Drops: Kuwait's biggest grocery app, rebuilt in Flutter

Drops is Kuwait's biggest online grocery app, with 2-hour delivery. TwoApps rebuilt the native app in Flutter and moved the business onto a modern data stack.

Client projectFlutterDartMaterial 3

The problem

Drops ran a native app on top of legacy MS SQL and SFCC data. The business needed a modern app and a data warehouse it could report from.

What TwoApps built

  • Rebuilt the native app in Flutter with Material 3
  • Migrated legacy MS SQL / SFCC data to AWS Redshift
  • Built the data warehouse and a Grafana BI layer on top of it
  • Re-platformed the warehouse from Redshift to Google BigQuery

Stack

  • Flutter
  • Dart
  • Material 3
  • AWS Redshift
  • Grafana
  • Google BigQuery

Timeline

Ongoing engagement, delivered in phases: the Flutter rebuild, the Redshift migration, then the BigQuery re-platform.

Outcomes

  • The app now runs on Flutter with Material 3
  • Reporting runs from a Grafana BI layer over the warehouse, now on Google BigQuery
